The Finnish handset maker, in the past few years, has tried its best to bring back that nostalgia factor to make customers stick around. And today it might do that again by introducing the refreshed version of another classic Nokia feature phone – Nokia 5310.
If this rings a bell, yes the Nokia 5310 is the 2020 version of the popular Xpress Music phone, which will launch today in India. The price of the device is hard to guess for now. However, the specifications are all out since this feature phone has been listed on the website.
NOKIA 5310 LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE PREVIOUS VERSION:
The new Nokia 5310 looks slightly different from the 2007 version. It doesn’t have that slim build with the music buttons that really stood out. But the company has retained the music key buttons on the 2020 Nokia 5310. It has a slightly thicker build with color combinations of white plus red, and black plus red.
And those interested in the specifics, the new Nokia 5310comes with dual front-facing speakers. There’s a built-in MP3 player along with FM radio. It also supports expandable storage up to 32GB and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Running on Series 30+ OS, the device has a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 8MB RAM, and is powered by MT6260A CPU.
LIGHT WEIGHT:
Being a feature phone, it weighs light at 88.2 grams and measures 123.7 x 52.4 x 13.1 mm. There’s a VGA camera at the back and a 1200mAh battery that is claimed to deliver a talk time of up to 20 hours on a single charge.
Nokia 5310 has been launched in India as the latest feature phone by the Nokia brand licensee HMD Global. The new feature phone is a refreshed version of the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic that was launched back in August 2007. It comes with dual-SIM support and offers as much as 22 days of battery life on a single charge. The Nokia 5310 also comes preloaded with an MP3 player and wireless FM radio. Further, the new Nokia phone features dedicated music keys as well as dual speakers. There is also a camera sensor at the back of the phone, along with an LED flash.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
The Nokia 5310 price in India has been set at Rs. 3,399. The phone will be available for purchase in the country in Black/ Red and White/ Red color options starting June 23 via Amazon and the Nokia India online store. The phone will be available for pre-bookings on the Nokia India online store later today and will go on sale via offline retailers starting July 22.
To recall, the Nokia 5310 was launched globally in March with a price tag of EUR 39 (roughly Rs. 3,300).
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES:
The dual-SIM (Mini) Nokia 5310 runs Series 30+ operating system and features a 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) display. Under the hood, the phone has a MediaTek MT6260A SoC, paired with 8MB of RAM. The phone comes with 16MB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). For photos and videos, the Nokia 5310 has a VGA camera at the back that is paired with an LED flash.
HMD Global has provided connectivity options including Bluetooth v3.0, Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As mentioned earlier, the Nokia 5310 also has wireless FM radio support. There is also a removable battery that is rated to deliver over 20 hours of talk time or up to 22 days of standby time on a single charge. Besides, the Nokia 5310 measures 123.7×52.4×13.1mm and weight 88.2 grams.
Citing data from International Data Corporation (IDC) during a virtual briefing on Monday, HMD Global said that there are already over 130 million users buying 2G handsets in India. The company, citing data from Facebook insights, also mentioned that the country also has over 97 million users who have an “affinity to listen” to music on their phones.
