WhatsApp Messenger is a free application that is available for all smartphones. In the application you can chat, video call, voice call, and share videos, photos, links, documents, and many more things. It is a free application and is available in the internet connection (2G/3G/4G/EDGE and Wi-Fi).
About the App:
WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, now has 1 billion users worldwide. It is the biggest online messenger app worldwide. It is founded in the year 2009 by ex-Yahoo employees. It started as a small startup and expand to 2,50,000 users in just a few months. It grows so fast that they had to add a charge for using the service per year to slow the subscription. In 2014, WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook and has seen continued growth, reaching the 1 billion mark in July 2017.
Features available in WhatsApp:
WhatsApp gives an option for group chat and group video call. You can also open your WhatsApp on your Web, by using the WhatsApp web option. It helps you connect to the people in your contacts. You can also share your current location as well as live location. It is always logged in and it does not charge you per message like SMS. It includes free international calls. Basically, the best feature of the application is that it allows users to be in touch with people living abroad, without the international charges connected with text messages.
New update:
WhatsApp is soon to release the new update which allows up to four devices to access the same account. A popular website, WABetaInfo, posts the regular update of the change in WhatsApp. The new feature is under development in present.
Before a month, the Android beta version 2.20.152, featured something called ‘Linked Devices’ which was basically the future to link the multiple devices. Once the feature comes out the users will receive a message, “Use your WhatsApp account on other devices”. The update release date is not yet decided.
It is also planning to release the new feature where the users will be able to search the chat by the dates. Recently, the application released the dark mode which is liked by many users.
In the previous year, one of the beta versions of iOS applied a new feature that asked users for a code registration. Once if the code is registered, it allowed the users to use applications on multiple devices using the same account. The application now allows 8 participants to a group video call.
